Jigsaw Addict

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

Jigsaw Addict is a co-op jigsaw puzzle game. It runs as a Discord Activity inside a voice channel, and as a standalone game in your web browser. This page explains what information the game accesses, what is stored, and why.

The short version:

Discord account information

When you launch the game inside Discord, the Discord SDK asks you to authorize the identify scope. This lets the game read your Discord user ID, username, and avatar so we can show who is in the room and attribute gameplay to your account. We do not request your email address, your friends list, or any other Discord data.

Guest accounts on the web

When you play in a browser outside Discord, the server gives you a temporary guest id for the session. Guests have no username from Discord and no avatar. Gameplay stats are stored against the guest id the same way they are for a Discord account.

Gameplay and profile data

We store a record for your user id with your cached username and avatar plus lifetime totals: time played, puzzle pieces connected, pieces placed in a finished puzzle, and the highest difficulty (piece count) you have played. These power the in-game profile view and update automatically as you play.

Session and room data

Each puzzle room you create or join is recorded as a session, including the room id, the puzzle image reference and grid size, who created it, and when it started and finished. For each player in that session we track join and leave times and per-session stats. This powers the session history in your profile.

Puzzle images you upload

If you upload your own image to use as a puzzle, it is stored on our server so it can be served as the puzzle texture to everyone in the room. Please only upload images you have the right to use and share with the other people in that room.

Gallery images

You can pick a public-domain artwork from the in-game gallery instead of uploading your own. When you do, our server fetches that image from the source (Wikimedia Commons, the Art Institute of Chicago, or The Met) and stores a copy to serve as the puzzle texture. No personal data is sent to those sources.

Optional location for leaderboards

Leaderboards can show global, country, and regional rankings for stats like time played and pieces connected. You can set a country on your profile to appear on country and regional leaderboards. A "hide my location" toggle removes your country from those rankings while your stats stay on the global leaderboard. This setting is optional and off by default.

Local device storage

The game uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences on your device, like volume and mute settings, whether the controls panel is collapsed, and whether image preview mode is on. It uses session storage to remember which room you were joining if the page needs to reload. None of this leaves your device or is linked to your account.

Third-party services

Inside Discord, the game talks to the Discord API to authenticate you and embed the Activity. See Discord's Privacy Policy for how Discord handles your data. The game does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and does not share your data with any other third party.

Data retention and deletion

Your profile, session history, and uploaded images are kept so your stats persist across sessions. You can delete your account and its data yourself at any time; see how to delete your account. You can also contact us using the details below and we will remove your stored profile, session records, and uploaded images for you.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS and WSS) between your browser, Discord, and our server. Access tokens from the Discord authorization step are used only to confirm your identity and are not stored long term.

Children's privacy

The game is subject to the age requirements of the platform you use it on, including Discord's own age requirements. We do not knowingly collect information beyond what is described here from any user, regardless of age.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
